I have a running list of keepsakes and treasures for the girls.
I have a video for each of them with pictures and music – from Chad’s childhood to present.
I have someone working on Daddy & Me scrapbooks to help them remember.
I have cards for almost every occasion; birthdays, graduations, wedding, new house, baby.
I have both shirts Chad was wearing on the day they were born tucked away in a hope chest.
And I have plans for more, when the time is right.

When Chad was having such a hard time a couple of weeks ago, I purchased a keepsake for the girls.
Someone had mentioned it to my mother, who eagerly told me about this perfect item.
I purchased it online and was very afraid I might not receive it in time.
I emailed the designer and briefly explained the situation, and that I didn’t think I could wait the standard 5 days for shipping.
She rushed it to me.
I received the kit in the mail; a mold to take Chad’s fingerprint.
I got the print, shipped it off the next day.
And yesterday, I received the most beautiful gifts for our girls.
The heart is Chad’s actual fingerprint, made of solid silver. The back is engraved “Daddy.”
They each have an flower charm with their initial – and their birthstone crystal.
I hope they will treasure these as much as I already do.
Wherever they go, no matter how old they are, their daddy is with them.
Emotionally and now, physically.
