The Bald & the Beautiful

When Chad noticed his hair was starting to thin and fall out late last week, I just knew what was coming.
He refuses to have a head full of patchy hair growth, and I was certain he would shave it.
And he did – Friday night.
You can see the shunt “bump” on the upper left (right-hand side of this pic), but it really isn’t too noticeable. I think we just notice it quickly because we know it’s there.

Here we are, 3 months post-op (and 2 months post-op for the shunt) And the scars have healed really well. His surgeons have done a great job of placing scar in a place where they will blend in with his hairline.

We had a pretty good weekend.
My family (aunts, uncles, cousins, etc.) & I went to see my grandfather on Saturday. He wasn’t expecting the whole gang, so it was quite a surprise. It was good to have (most) everyone together.
Chad hung around at his parent’s house yesterday, as he’s not feeling well.
The girls & I joined my parents at the pool last night to tire them out as thoroughly as we could. (The girls, not my parents.)

After breakfast this morning, the girls & I went to see my dad. The girls had fun playing with the kitten & walking around the yard looking for treasures…which is anything from a feather to a discarded bird’s nest.

And I got to see one of my favorite dogs ever. Sisco.
He is getting old. But he is so sweet.
He’s Cailyn’s favorite, too.

And look who joined the ranks of big girls and lost her first tooth?
More on that later!
008bHappy Father’s Day, Chad.
We love you SO much!

I, for one, like the look. It shows off those carolina-blue eyes!
